The Secret Corners of Venice
Our professional English speaking guide will meet you at 11:00am under the Clock Tower in Saint Mark's Square. The tour will start from here, the heart of Venice, proceeding on foot heading south to the Castello sestiere (neighborhood), still one of the more secluded Venetian parts of the town with a lot of history and charming corners.
Your guide will take you past San Zaccaria's square, San Giorgio dei Greci (a magnificent white marble lombard-style Greek-orthodox church), San Giorgio degli Schiavoni, and the Arsenale, with its towers and lions...
At the Rio delle Galeazze, you will board a private motor launch to discover the hidden Venice from the water, the other way to perceive the city.
Along the small inner canals, you'll reach the Fondamenta Nuove for a quick look at the northern side of the lagoon, the island of San Michele, and Murano and Burano in the distance.
Gliding again through the little canals, you will return to the city center, to one of the most beautiful “streets” of the world: the Grand Canal. Here, your boat will make a brief stop at the Rialto Market, a kind of European bazaar, where fruits and vegetables, meat and fish are sold in colorful and entertaining chaos. You’ll then board again and end the journey back in Saint Mark's Square.
